For some people, Christmas is all about spending money on gifts. We buy gifts as a way to remember that Jesus was God’s ultimate gift to humanity. But the gross overspending on gifts is probably not what Jesus had in mind. Many are now calling for us to “spend less” and “spend more wisely” when it comes to buying gifts.
Advent is also a time for us to remember all that we have, and have been given, and to remember that many in this world have much less.
God’s love is for ALL the world. His love is so great He sent His one and only Son into this world to rescue us from sin and eternal separation from God. Let’ reflect on this great gift. Let’s also consider wisely our spending this Christmas.
