How to Pray for Workers Who Are Incarcerated And Their Families

The following prayer pointers were given by a sister who was in a North African jail for a few months:

Pray for:

  • Their relationship with God and for having God’s perspective (Who is God? – See the greatness of God.  Who am I?  I’m His beloved child no matter what happens.)

  • Willingness to lay down their lives. The enemy can’t take what you’ve given away.

  • A Godly character/ behaviour (fruit of the Spirit) in the midst of stress and pressure.

  • Boldness to obey (sharing about Him) in spite of fear and intimidation.

  • Unity: Fellow workers or believers are brothers and sisters and I will love them and forgive them and will not believe any rumours that are spread about them (the enemy always tries to divide us and be suspicious of each other’s’ motives.

  • For encouragement: David strengthened himself in the Lord; That they will be strengthened every day in the Lord

  • Family- families are suffering.  Wife and children sometimes threatened and experience trauma. Pray for the peace of God upon them
